From Vision to Reality: Building and Developing a SEND Unit – Tuesday 14th October 2025, 1.30pm-4.30pm

What does a SEND Unit provision actually look like?  What do the teachers and children do through the day? Freshfield Primary school has successfully set up and developed a 4 class SEND Unit for autism and communication needs over the past five years. As part of this course you will see 3 levels of provision, including Equals Informal, Semi-Formal and adapted National Curriculum in different classes.

• Visit the classrooms and see for yourself how they are set up
• Q&A with Specialist teachers from Reachout ASC, Liverpool Speech Therapists and the staff at Freshfield School

This course is for Head Teachers, SLT, SENCO’s and teachers to investigate the bigger picture and see what it looks like in practice.

This course will be repeated on 3rd February  ’26 / 28th April ’26
