Emma Turver is a Autism consultant and specialist teacher whose experience spans primary, secondary and sixth-form provision.

“I have over thirty years experience working in both mainstream and specialist primary and secondary schools. I spent ten years as Head of Upper School and have extensive knowledge of working with autistic, ADHD and PDA pupils. I have also worked in an advisory capacity in two specialist provisions and multiple mainstream settings, as well as supporting pupils in their home environment. I have over ten years’ experience as an advisory teacher and am passionate about supporting neurodivergent children and young people’s wellbeing in these environments.

I have assisted staff in reforming what could have been described as non-inclusive primary schools by creating provisions and practice which ensure accessibility for all pupils. This has involved staff training, parents coffee mornings alongside developing working methods through direct intervention with pupils, individual teachers and TAs. As a team leader I have helped to create a classroom specifically designed for autistic individuals in the heart of a mainstream school where pupils can be fully integrated. This has enabled individuals to thrive in both environments giving them the tools to flourish for the future.

One of my proudest achievements is the weekly autism group which I established and continue to lead. Over the past 8 years we have had over 60 members ranging from ages 5 to 18. This group is really at the heart of my local community and we meet weekly to spend time together, share experiences, and support each other.”

“Emma from Reachout ASC has really helped me through some difficult times at high school and I wouldn’t be able to manage college like I do without the help I’ve been given.”

We have worked with Emma for almost a decade. Working with an autism specialist with Emma’s expertise and creativity has made a remarkable difference to our students. Emma has the ability to understand each learner’s unique strengths and challenges. Emma’s sessions are always engaging, personalised and accessible which enable our students to grow in both confidence and knowledge.
Emma empowers our students by creating an environment where students feel understood, valued, and encouraged to express themselves. Emma’s thoughtful approaches, innovative strategies, and genuine passion have helped students develop not only academically, but personally. We have seen the impact with some of our students able to attend lessons with excitement, self-belief and more resilience than before.
We are incredibly grateful for the difference you make every day.
