Lynn McCann

Lynn McCann began working as a mainstream class teacher and was an early years lecturer and SENCO.   More recently she had over 10 years experience in autism education, outreach and training in a specialist education setting.   She has training and experience in autism theory and research, PECS, Sensory Integration, SCERTS, TEACCH, ASC and Puberty, Social Stories, Mental Health First Aid and Forest Schools.

Now working independently, Lynn is heading a team of two specialist teachers, delivering the same high quality advice and training with the advantage of being more flexible. Working across Lancashire, South Cumbria and occasionally further afield, we are able to meet the needs of individual pupils and schools.

We can also work with charities, businesses and other organisations...in fact... We will train anyone who wants to know about autism!   Our strategies are practical and adaptable.  We make and share many of our own resources which have proven to work in real-life situations.   We will work with you to discover the best strategies and support for each individual pupil and environment.

Lynn is also a writer and is the author of "How to support children with ASC in Primary School" and "How to support students with ASC in Secondary School" published by LDA 2017.  She also writes regualrly for the TES blog, and has published articles in SENCO Magazine, NASEN Connect and Optimus SEND magazine (Autism and SRE and How to write social stories).

DSCF0654We are passionate about making school successful for children and young people with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC).  Our years of experience, supporting hundreds of children and young people with ASC has given us a vast amount of knowledge and resources to draw upon.  The children and young people themselves have taught us what works for them and we keep up with current research and new resources that are available.

Both Lynn and Emma are Assessors for the National Autistic Society Acreditation Scheme.

As we look at the world through the eyes of the person with autism, together we can make a difference.
